The Young Money Challenge

Zaynah's school is very keen on promoting activities out of school where children can excel in their god given talents (catholic school). One such opportunity came during lockdown with the announcement of the 2020 young money challenge. It was a competition for 4-19 year olds, split between three age ranges and categories. Zaynah was in category 2, age range 7-11 year olds, and her challenge was to investigate responsible consumerism in Energy, Fashion or Food.

She chose fashion and she upcycled a pair of old jeans into a bag. Zaynah then created a poster explaining the reasons why this has been chosen and how to save money by upcycling item.

Zaynah won her category and the prize was £500 for her school and £50 for herself.  She was very happy she won but thought since she did all the work the prize should have been more equally distributed lol

Zaynah also had to send a video acceptance speech that is on the Young Money Challenge website.

The school was so happy and proud of Zaynah they gave her a lovely sewing box with stuffed full with all the things she needs to develop her creativity.
