Now your walking

The day I went into hospital to be induced I was told it could take up to approx. 48hrs before I could go into labour.  After the nurse left I touched my belly and said listen Zaynah you have until 6pm to come out or we're going home.  I'm not bloody spending days here and missing Tyrae's birthday/christening. Sure enough at 17.52 with 8 mins to spare out she popped!!

I took the same approach with her walking. I cupped her face and said Zaynah your having a party for your first birthday and I would be very nice if you we're walking by then so get to work. I told her this when she was about 7 months old to give her some time to get cracking.

Now, any one who says they captured their babies first steps first time they are either very lucky, have a camera strapped to their face or are lying.

Zaynah started taking a few steps at 11 months but we were never quick enough to capture any of them before she stumbled to the floor and started crawling. Then two weeks later on Sunday while me and mom were watching Columbo she just got up and walked, we managed to capture it and she hasn't stopped walking since with two weeks to spare before her birthday.

She was a little nervous walking in her nursery class but I think that was because of all the bigger kids who were more experienced walkers. Once I told the staff that she was walking they made sure she had the space to get around until she was more confident which I thought was very considerate.
