Corfu here we come

My family still holidays together and it usually consists of me, mom, Nshae, Aunty Maxcine, Julia and Aunty Di but Uncle Roy and Courtney came on Zaynah's first holiday.

We spent a week in Sidari, Corfu which was my first holiday since my accident and my diagnosis.  To take my mind off that I focused on how to pack for Zay, because her luggage allowance was less than mine, and I had to take nappies, wipes, formula, bottles and jar food not forgetting her clothes and stuff.

Everyone pitched in and packed some of the nappies which helped me out a lot and then I brought formula and jar food from Boots.com where I arranged to collect it from Birmingham airport after customs so it didn't count towards my allowance. I took sterilising microwave bags for the bottles which they use in the hospital and it was a good job because our apartment didn't have a hob so I wouldn't have been able to boil sterilise them.

My Ataxia symptoms were not that noticeable at this stage, well it hadn't progressed that much, but on a day out my ankle was really painful. I think I just over did it. I don't know why I didn't tell the guys how I was feeling but maybe it was because everyone was having such a good day and I thought if I could make it to the restaurant and sit down it would be ok. The only problem was it was further than I thought and I realised too late so by the time I told the family, the pain was intense and I just burst into tears. Everyone was great and my Uncle Roy helped me to the restaurant and after sitting down for something to eat, I felt so much better.

Corfu was lovely except Zaynah developed a very bad cough and fever so we took her to a local Dr's who prescribed her amoxicillin and paracetamol. Now that's not necessary a bad thing except Zay is not a lover of taking medication in fact she hates is with a passion and its a two person job to administer it.

Aside from that a great time was had by all with great weather and great food.

Eating the Hello Gruffalo book instead of reading it.

                                                                                   All tuckered out.

Getting comfortable in the Totseat (portable baby seat)
