The arrival part 1 - pg.1

On the 16th of August my sunshine was born and this is all about her.
I think I need to go back a few days to give the full picture.

Due to high blood pressure and newly discovered fibroids I was seeing my consultant and being scanned every four weeks. On what should have been a routine appointment I was informed that my baby was very low and an accurate head measurement could not be reached.  My consultant suggested that the best course of action would be to induce labour at 36 weeks. Now this scared the crap out of me so he said they would do another scan in two weeks and take it from there. So a date was booked for the 15/08/12.

It wasn't the thought of being induced that scared me but the fact I was moving house and still sorting out my baby shower which was going to be on the 12th. I was also still working full time and not due to go on maternity leave until the 10th so everything had been brought forward two weeks and it was all a little too close for comfort!!!

On my last day on work they threw me a party with a catered buffet and I had some lovely gifts (clothes and a £100.00 gift voucher for Mothercare). It was so unexpected and a really nice surprise, I was a little teary but anything could set me off. The Sunday was my baby shower and even though it was stressful organising it I am really glad that I didn't cancel it.

There was good food and we played some games. Kam painted my belly and then everyone decorated bibs. A fun time was had by all.

My delicious baby shower cake brought by Aunty Di.

My nappy motorcycle and lollipop tree made by my mom.
